Massaranduba Decking
Massaranduba decking (often called Bulletwood or “Brazilian Redwood”, commonly referenced as Manilkara bidentata) is a premium hardwood chosen for high-traffic outdoor spaces where homeowners want a dense, solid timber feel underfoot.
Freshly installed, Massaranduba is typically a rich reddish-brown tone. Like most timber decking, it can weather to a silver-grey patina if left untreated—oiling is how you control colour retention and consistency.
Massaranduba is widely recognised for its hardness and density (commonly cited around 3,130–3,190 lbf Janka hardness). That strength is a major benefit—but it also means your deck’s long-term performance depends on correct fixing strategy, ventilation, and drainage detailing.
